February 15, 2023 – Chris Blees of BiggsKofford, P.C. was named the 2022 Merger & Acquisition “Thought Leader of the Year” by the Alliance of Mergers & Acquisitions Advisors (AM&AA). This premier award recognizes those in the private middle market who create and advocate innovative ideas that add value to the M&A community. The award is sponsored and presented by FORVIS, a Top-10 CPA and M&A advisory firm formed through the merger of BKD and DHG.
Chris Blees was nominated for his role in co-authoring Middle Market M & A: Handbook for Advisors, Investors, and Business Owners, 2nd Edition which was released last year. The book provides valuable information to those involved in mergers, acquisitions and strategic transactions of privately held companies with revenues between $5 and $500 million. Blees was is joined by additional author-experts Kenneth H. Marks, author of Financing Growth, Michael R. Nall, Founder of the Alliance of M&A Advisors, and Thomas A. Stewart, former Editor in Chief of Harvard Business Review.

Chris began his career as a CPA with BiggsKofford PC, with offices in Colorado Springs and Denver. In 2003, Chris founded the firm’s M&A advisory practice, known as BiggsKofford Capital. In 2007 he was also appointed as the CPA firm’s President and CEO. Chris has become a leader in the M&A sector, through his involvement in over 300 merger, acquisition and sale transactions.
